What to expect

We can’t wait to welcome you to Jersey Crab Shack!
Before your visit, we’d like to let you know what to expect so we’ve put together a little guide below. Have a quick read, and if you’ve still got questions, take a look at our FAQs or get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to help!


We’ve evolved to become a bit more casual, with a focus on chilled out, relaxed get-togethers.
You’ll notice that we’ve moved from the traditional ‘starters, mains and desserts’ to a more flexible menu, with small plates, big plates and puddings – so it’s up to you whether you’d like a leisurely lunch, a quick bite and a drink, or a few different dishes for your table to share.



Our menu prices now include service, so there’s no need for tips when you eat at any of our ‘Shacks (or at any other JPRestaurants). Don’t worry, though – our teams aren’t losing out. We’re an accredited Living Wage employer so everyone receives fair pay, and we’ve got an incentive scheme to keep our team motivated.

Our all-inclusive approach might mean that our menu prices look a little higher than other restaurants, but we find that our pricing is very similar when a tip or service charge is added at other establishments. Take a look at our Living Wage news item to find out more.



The quickest way to order is via our easy ordering app: simply scan the QR code on your table (or sign in to our WiFi), enter your table number, then add your food and drink to your basket and pay online. Your order will go straight through to our team, who’ll prepare your food and drinks and bring them right to your table.

There’s no need to download the app (it’s web-based), and all information and payments are processed securely by our online payment provider. It won’t take long to enter your info on the day (you can take a scan of your payment card, or simply type the details in). But for the quickest experience, we’d suggest using Apple Pay or Google Pay. If you’ve got these set up already, you’ll find paying a breeze. If not, it’s easy to set them up before your visit: they’re easy to use, very secure, and can be set up in a few minutes. If you need help, have a look at this guide to get started.



Prefer not to order by app? No problem: just place your orders with a member of our friendly team. We’ll run a tab for you so you can make as many orders as you like, then pay for everything at the bar before you leave.



We’ve moved away from traditional starters, mains and desserts – so you can order whatever you want, whenever you want it. You’re after sticky toffee pudding, but your partner wants some more oysters? No problem – just order them together, and we’ll bring them out at the same time. You’d like some small plates first, then big plates later? Also not an issue – just place the small plates order first, then place your big plates order when you’re ready for them.
Once ordered, everything comes out when it’s ready – so you can order as much or as little as you want, whenever you want.


There’s no more bill-splitting when you order with our app! If you’re ordering as a group and want to pay individually, just order and pay on your own devices. As long as you place the orders around the same time, all of your food will arrive close together.
If you’d like to order and pay all together, just use one device for everyone’s orders.



There is no requirement for customers or our team to wear face masks but we want to create an environment where those that wish to feel comfortable doing so. Please respect those that chose to wear a mask.

Please also be considerate to other guests and our team by keeping your distance when arriving, leaving, and using the loos.



We know we won’t get everything right first time, so we’d love to hear your comments (good or bad!) after your meal. We’ll send you an email survey after your visit to give us your thoughts, or you can get in touch with us via the feedback link on our website.

Our largest table size available is for eight people. Unfortunately we are unable to allocate more than one table per booking and will not be able to honour multiple bookings for the same party.
