Our Story

Family-owned since 1954

Established in 1946 as a small studio pottery in Gorey, we grew to become one of the Island's most popular tourist attractions. In the early 1960s we opened a "coffee bar" for visitors to the pottery. The original coffee bar was the beginning of JPRestaurants which now includes Jersey Crab Shack, and which remains a family-run business.

Our largest table size available is for eight people. Unfortunately we are unable to allocate more than one table per booking and will not be able to honour multiple bookings for the same party.

Our largest booking size is for 10 people. Please note that we cannot honour bookings for groups of more than 10, even if the group is to be split over multiple smaller tables.

When booking online, you are able to indicate your preferences in the Special Requests section. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes but cannot guarantee a table in a specific area of Jersey Crab Shack.

We respectfully ask that food (other than baby food) that has not been prepared in our kitchens is not consumed on our premises. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes celebratory puddings so please ask if you would like a celebratory pudding made. Please click here for further information.

Please note that JPRestaurants no longer accepts cash. Payments can be made by Visa, Mastercard, Amex and debit cards. We can also receive payment via Apple Pay and Google Pay.
